The Oath of Professional Service

What is the PPC Oath of Professional Service?

Being certified is more than just passing an exam; it is abiding by the expectations of the professional.

We’ve all worked with the person who disappears or becomes unresponsive, or who takes advantage of their clients in many different ways.

We ensure everyone certified takes the oath ensuring that they will do what’s in their clients’ best interest, and treat the client with the respect with which they themselves want.

PPC Oath

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgement, this covenant:

Primum non nocere: first, do no harm. I will use my skills to the best of my ability to advance both my clients’ and their customers’ efforts and pursue their best interest. I will use my knowledge and do anything in my power to protect them from any harm, whether from me or external risk factors.

I will work hard in order to put my clients first, using my knowledge and techniques to accomplish what is in their best interest.

I will respect my clients’ trust, ensuring that I am transparent and communicative in my work.

I will be mindful of my clients’ resources, monetary and beyond, ensuring that I use them responsibly and to accomplish my client’s best interest.

I will remember that there is more to the industry than monetary gains, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh superficial benefits.

I will be respectful of users’ privacy, always being mindful of the information they provide. My responsibility includes respecting customers’ information, and avoiding the use of it in any way that may be harmful.

I will not be ashamed to admit when I do not know something, or if my offering is not the best option for my client, but will always work to continuously educate myself on my craft.

I will hold myself responsible for staying up to date on the technological advancements and developments in the industry, ensuring that I continue to hold relevant information and techniques to serve my clients.

I will remember that marketing and advertising are meant to be beneficial to people, knowing that I have an obligation to serve every member of society regardless of their gender, race, socioeconomic status, identity, religion, and background.

I will empower others through my knowledge, being transparent in my work and sharing insights. Openly sharing my journey with those in the next generation, who seek to pursue the industry.

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and explore my passions, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of supporting those who seek my help.
